I was wondering if there is a gradient profile for the RH&DR that someone could send me? Just curious and also for a project I'm working on.

The line doesn't cross a single contour line on the OS map and would seem to stay within 3 and 6 metres above seal level so a billiard table would probably do as a gradient profile. :)

Seal level? o_O That's a new way of describing the beach I suppose, though I've never seen a seal there...

Funnily enough, I was at the RHDR on holiday a week or two ago and asked a driver about gradients: apparently coming out of New Romney towards Dungeness climbs a little bit, enough to make picking up a big train a bit of a handful. (It is noticeable as the track disappears under the low bridge at that end of the station). That's the only one he mentioned. Even so (hypothetically) 100 - 200 metres at 1 in 100 would be plenty to tax an engine with the whole train on the grade, without involving a climb of more than 1 - 2 metres of actual gain.

I have and I basically got told there isn't any apart from the 1/100 out of New Romney towards Dungeness :)
