Having now visitied the majority of heritage railways in the UK, I'm beginning to think about visiting railways on the continent that can be visited easily in a day or two. I've found a few resources on the internet and have purchased 'The essential guide to French Heritage and Tourist Railways' but wondered if there are any other good guide books to finding heritage railways in Europe?
Also any recomendations for museums / railways near international airports?

Not sure about guidebooks, but I'd certainly recommend the Stoomcentrum Maldegem near Bruges and the 3 Valleys Railway between Mariembourg and Treignes in Belgium, and of course the Harz Steam Railway, Wernigerode in Eastern Germany, all three interesting and in the case of the Belgian sites, with very friendly and helpful volunteers on site. Definitely all worth visiting

There's a Swiss version of the French book which is very good as well. One of my favourite lines is the Blonay-Chamby, near Montreux. Mixture of steam locos and electric locos, railcars and trams. Pleasant scenery, steep gradients (climbs 120m in 3km), and an excellent museum.
