    From the Steam Dreams website:

"Cancelled due to guaging issues and locomotive withdrawal

Tomorrow’s trip has been postponed following news received earlier today from West Coast that Network Rail have been unable to satisfy the gauging requirements for the Duchess of Sutherland despite the fact that it has been run on all of this route within the last year. In addition Tangmere, our reserve loco, may be withdrawn from service when it gets back from a trip that it is on today due to problems with its boiler that might need immediate attention.
We are in the process of contacting all passengers booked on this tour to notify them of the situation. We will also be writing to all passengers booked on this trip in the coming days."

Was on time at Clapham Junction, but with the diesel on the rear half way through platform 5 it suddenly opened up and began pushing and letting out a lot of black clag, as much as 34067 was making.

Can you post a link to the message please. Just looked and I can't see that on Steam Dreams website and it is not appearing on their Twitter feed yet either. Not saying that's not true just that I may be looking in the wrong place. If it is on might have a chance to see the run tomorrow as I'm up that way to work on the final bits of the SLS Library move.

Mods - does this and the original need moving to the other tour's thread?

Wcrc can put their foot in their mouth for Tangmere having issues out on the mainline once again. So are we down to just 2 class 7?

    What does this mean please?

    Just asking.

Can somebody PLEASE explain why that stinking paraffin can was shoving like billyo out of Basingstoke of all places? Not exactly Lickey Incline is it?
Thought it was there for the initial return section, end of.

Maybe because the steam loco was struggling with the load?

Looking at that video at Basingstoke you'd be forgiven for concluding that WC have decided that they won't take any risks with the steam reverser on Tangmere and that its far easier to leave her in gear for running, (and use the diesel to deal with starts etc where full forward gear would be used) rather than use the reverser and risk it having a strop. That certainly didn't look much like a steam loco starting a heavy train!

If that is true, what has prompted the statement from SD about "problems with its boiler"? Has someone lied to them?
