Looks good indeed. When I arrived, smokebox door was open and a couple of guys were looking in, followed by a ladder job onto the top of the boiler.

Just out of intrest I wonder how the SVR's organising the rostering the 'who gets to drive' conundrum? Would it be seniority, or as with Tornado and use a ballot?

Looking superb! Whoever did the paintjob deserves a huge well done, it really does look good.

Looks superb. Shame about the air pump but understand the reason. I wonder if it would look better without the cover - to me it looked less obtrusive in the early shots from Crewe than it does now. But not complaining at all - great to have 46100 back and looking 'proper'.

Thank you for sharing these, James. 2015 has been a pretty miserable year for main line steam. Besides the WCRC issues, there has been a serious shortage of main line-registered locos. Here, however, is an engine which, regardless of what one's favourite "Big Four" company may be, is giving us all a bit of much-needed cheer just by chugging up and down the SVR light engine. We've got a while to wait still before it will be let loose on the big railway at 75mph, but things are moving in the right direction. More than that - it is the first in what could be quite a procession of very welcome main line returnees and débutants over the coming months:- 60103, 45212, 34046, 6023, 35018, 7029....

That shot at 6:00 sounds like there's a kitten accidentally trapped inside one of the cylinders

Not picking fault, but in a few of the shots it also seems to have a low pitched whine/rumble.
Sounds like an old fashioned underground train.
Hope it's nothing to worry about.
