    Hundreds of passengers have been stranded in a tunnel after a Tube train derailed during the morning rush-hour in London.

    Object derails tube train

    Metronet said initial reports suggest the derailment was caused by a loose "bale of material" inside the tunnel.

    "Our initial reports suggest that a bale of material became dislodged from its licensed storage position in a tunnel cross-passage," said a Metronet spokesman.

    Images from the derailment of a Central Line Tube train two weeks ago have been handed to BBC London.

    The images show a roll of fire blanket that had apparently blown out of a storage area and on to tracks near Bethnal Green, east London, on 5 July
