    Wow what a job, I have heard of other painting restorations, but this must surely be a notable one. Congratulations to all involved in bringing the picture back to such a wonderful condition.

    Agree wholeheartedly with the above. I know a restorer of significant paintings from the last couple of hundred years and the skill involved is considerable. But in the case of this particular painting, and sorry to single it out ahead of Terence Cuneo's many others, it is the one the probably captures a station scene at a particular time more than any other.

    Agree, excellent article, written for an adult audience, and not a single "iconic" in it, which must be a record for something coming out of the NRM. Interesting that they insure things.
