Please don't blame Shoreham. If anyone is to 'blame' it is the CAA and their 'knee jerk' reaction and 'must be seen to be doing something' attitude when they had no idea if the accident was as a result of the air show display or anything else.

The accident was tragic and my sympathies go out to all those involved.
The CAA reaction was pathetic, typical 'chinless Whitehall wonder' actions - cover your own...

Without Shoreham there would have been no "knee jerk" reaction from the CAA. Sadly the Shoreham incident was the trigger no matter what the cause of the tragedy.

Hmn, tragedy indeed, I'm finding it difficult to understand why the pilot in the Shoreham tragedy has been discharged from hospital, he's walking around in public, yet the police haven't interviewed him yet.

The families have been told by the police why he hasn't been interviewed yet and that should be a good enough explanation. Physical recovery is no evidence of a state of mind fit to be questioned.

For those complaining about needing to be one final show I thought the two UK tours were a brilliant way to end her flying career. There were also many tours over this year and so lots of opportunities to see her.

I thought my last encounter would of been Southport and there was certainly not a dry eye at the airshow at the end of her display there. When I heard about the UK tours I was able to see her at North Weald. The Sunday tour could of caused controversy as with the detour to visit the East Midlands (that they unable to flyover the day before) the vulcan flew over Leicester the same day Argentina were playing rugby!

That aside the UK tours also meant a lot more to family. My Father who worked with this particular vulcan when it was based at woodford in operational service and was able to visit the UK and see her flying one last time at what remained of his old workplace.

The final short flight was always going to be short due to the short amount of time left on its flying hours. In a way I'm glad it was a quieter affair on its final flight as it meant all those who had been working on her over this year were able to watch and have their own final private display.

Not convinced. Two gif files stitched together from a series of stills. The aircraft changes apparent size between frames and during the second "roll" there is quite a significant jump between frames. Given the number of YouTube clips perporting to show aircraft flying with a wing missing, faking a sequence like this is probably not that difficult. I also find it difficult to believe that pilots who stand to lose their licences by performing such a manoeuvre would do it over a major conurbation with a potential audience of thousands. Will be interesting to see what the CAA makes of it.
