In the background on the image it looks like the Mk1 suburban has received some paint. Is this vehicle now being restored or is this just an external "tidy up"?

We are giving many of our stock and external tidy up. Currently we dont have the man power and work shop to completely restore these fully.
Our shed can hold one full sized coach or 2 smaller wagons. We currently have in there, one BR brake van, this is beeing fully restored.
And our resident steam engine, which is reseving some work and protection from the cold.

Thanks for the info, and good luck with the brakevan. I presume this is the ex-Wroxham one, if so I travelled past it for many years so will be nice to see it returned to its former glory, your other brakevan certainly looks the part :)

Yes, It is the Wroxham one. Most of the wooden frame has rotten around the base area.

Image doesn't show much. But the other side has been stripped.

Air pressure seems to be keeping in it, so its all looking good.

Great news, thanks. I remember shunting with that at Swanage a good few years ago now, it will be good to see it working again.

Nice to hear. It has a very loud horn. Which wasn't expected at all.
Have you seen any resent pictures of Swanworth on the website at all?

Can anyone on site regularly confirm what month the new Class 100 vehicle 56317 arrived on site? Have seen a picture of it dated May 12th and wondered if it has just arrived or has been here a while?

Some Big news from us: Whitwell and Reepham railway have applied for planning permission to Broadland District Council, to relay track on the former trackbed into Whitwell station. This mains that the track will be laid along platform 1 and the path will be moved over to be next to platform 2. Platform 2 will also be restored.

For more details and to provide support please see this planning application. We are having some problems with horse riders and local people who don't think it will be safe.

Good news, I hope the application is successful. However with the longer term aims of the railway in mind, was the option of laying both tracks through the station and having the path on the platform considered? Perhaps having the path on the platform is impractical?

Having the path on the platform stops us from putting back the old bridge. We would have to find away to redirect the path away from the station area. Still accommodating the bikers, walkers and horses.

Thanks for the insight. What is the proposed use of Platform 2 then?

Fully restore the platform. Long term plan would be to put the bridge back and the waiting room shelter.
