The consequences of that hitting a person in the face, be it footplate crew or vestibule window hanger doesn't bear thinking about. It just goes to show that the unexpected can happen anytime, anywhere. No injuries on the footplate have been mentioned thankfully.

Video footage from onboard yesterday's tour will uploaded later today, this was shot carefully with only the camera out of the window so no head out the window complaints please.

A bit late to the party with this one, but oh well ! The LMS duo making a fine sight departing from South Mills Junction and the excellent romp over Copy Pit.

Update on the concrete lump from elsewhere, happened on the climb to Copy Pit & believed to be deliberate. As such WCRC has reported it to the BTP.

Quite a few videos posted of the Copy Pit climb, perhaps they need a close look to see if the event was captured.

Just goes to show there's scum everywhere these days. A good job nobody was injured- I hope this does not become a regular occurrence on this route.

What are the options east of Manchester? Possibly the Hazel Grove chord line? Possibly Sheffield-Doncaster-Shaftholme Jct-Knottingley-Kirkgate?
Can't think of much else within the timings.

Market it as a different trip. Man Vic to Copy Pit via Todmorden Curve, then Sough or Chorley back to Man Vic. Subsequently, Man Vic to Heaton Norris, then Altrincham to Chester; maybe a couple of hours there for the train to turn on the triangle, then return to Man Vic via Newton-le-Willows. Bags of new track, a creditable destination, and three climbs, two on Miles Platting. Naturally, the hard bit is timing the thing and factoring-in service stops, although the 'Tin Bath' itinerary has regularly proved that it is by no means a piece of cake in this regard.
