    Morning,

According to UK Locos, a trio of locomotives, including the 18" 'Jack', have moved from Armley Mills to Statfold. Is this to temporarily protect them from the flooding that has occurred up there?

    Hi Ben

Jack is here for some boiler work. Timing was good as he missed the flooding!

The other two are here for display.

    Hi Henry,

Thanks for the quick reply. I wondered if it was something like that. Are they hanging around for long?

Isn't Armley Mills under threat of closure or already closed thanks to budget cuts? Another one of many irreplacable museums/building/collections currently in danger of being lost forever. Jack and others may have made their escape over the wire as it were. Queen Street Mill (working steam powered mill) in Burnley is another under threat. Armley Mills was built by one of my ancestors, so I feel particularly strongly about it.
