I would have loved to have done this as it travelled through the part of the world where my grandfather and mother both grew up. She regularly used Selham on the branch when travelling by train. Living in Bedfordshire and being on about 2/- pocket money, it was a non starter.

30064 I think you will find the location to be Guildford! She worked from Woking - Guildford - Baynards - Christ's Hospital - Stammerham Jn The picture shows the location to be equipped with the 3rd rail, so rules out anywhere between Peasmarsh Junction to Christ's Hospital. I believe the over-bridge in the back ground, is the one that carries the A31 road over the route south to Portsmouth.

A matter of weeks now before we're "job done." Smokebox done and once the main steam pipes are in, the door can go on. Boiler backhead fittings are nearly all done and the miles of oil pipes have been connected to the oil trays so the cab will be back on soon.

I was on The Midhurst Belle. As has been said above, it was a brilliant tour. The line-up of locos was something quite special: 30839, 30064, 30530 and 35007. And it ticked all the boxes for unusual places: Cranleigh (now gone), Midhurst, of course (now gone), Littlehampton (unusual), Kemp Town (now gone) and rounded off with Driver Finch whisking us back to Victoria in only 56 minutes non stop - something you just can't do nowadays.

Certainly looks like the Guildford bridge to me.
