Short video of our Schöma's working on a short bit of track.. I expect the plan will be for No.5220 (The light green one) To be overhauled first as it seems a bit rougher and in need of more TLC and wasn't rebuilt in 1998 unlike No.5129. Very easy to drive and surprising how well they work considering they have been doing very little for maybe 15 years? Plan is to transport them later this year back to North Lincs.

    Hullo William

Interesting little video. Has the group bought the three slave units as well as the two proper locos?

Yes we own all the 3 slave units one of them has had the wheels removed, we aren't sure if they actually work but if they don't they can be fixed later..

I visited the what were then the Fisons Thorne and Swinefleet systems back in the 70's as one of a Land Rover full of LCLR volunteers. At that time the trains were in the hands of Lister re-engined Rustons. There were also some older Rustons in more original condition, a Lister Rail Truck, Simplexes and a Diema(?). We were taken out for trips on both systems stood in an empty wagon attached to peat trains - an interesting experience, they didn't slow down for bends. Do any of those earlier generation locos survive anywhere? I know there is the Simplex hulk out on one of the old bogs.

    Hello 67379,

Cliff & Doreen Lawson from Tring acquired some of the older locos from Fisons, I believe that they ended up on a private site near Nottingham. I didn't know about an abandoned Simplex still on the bog tho'.

    Cheers,

    Alan

The Simplex that was next to the old Bank Top Workshop has been moved now it's on a private site, we plan to overhaul it once we get a workshop put up. I made a thread last year when we moved the loco.
