Given it is stationary at Heck, it might be too late for the news.

Preceding Virgin was delayed there too so guessing there's more trespassers.

Big crowd where I was at Holme Green Crossing, including the farmer with his crop sprayer who was trapped in his field by the cars parked up cow poo lane.
They were all gone 6 minutes after the train had passed, old bill would have found nothing.

Prosecutions after the event today are pointless. Should there have been better marshalling of the crowds before it passed is however a different question.

Just had a report from on the train that there is currently another trespass stop.

Agree with the sentiment, but how the bloody hell do you marshall the entire ECML?

It's 188 miles to York, that would take some doing!

I wonder how many people will turn out to see the diesel hauled return train?

Is it planned to be anything different or just a plain 67?

Or maybe named after the racehorse that won the St.Leger in 1906?

Well you dont have to, there are after all only so many access points. Stations have staff, were they even warned of what was about to hit them? If a dumbass like me got wary before the event then surely railway brains should have?

Apologies I wasn't aware that all of the trespass incidents had occurred at stations?

Naah. Palisade fencing wired up to the overhead electrification should keep most out.

You can't of course, but any local BTP worth their salt should know where problems are likely to occur on their patch. As I said earlier, such operations swallow up a lot of police resources but NR have some responsibility too.

A false alarm according to the BBC...

'British Transport Police has told our reporter Tom Ingall the reports of trespass were false.'

From the railcam track diagrams following trains are still stopped in the same place. 36 mins lost by a cross country train between Doncaster and Temple Hirst.

Wonder what the approaches to, and York station itself, look like at present.
