Great news if everything can be agreed to the benefit of both parties.

I believe Nellie is in pretty good shape overall and I'm sure that Andy Netherwood will be pretty confidant that the boiler doesn't hide any serious nasties as it seems to have behaved itself over the duration of the ticket whilst being MHR based.

The article in Steam Railway suggests that it is what the MHR want to do.

Couldn't give a stuff what colour it is, but when Nellie reappears, a drop grate section would be nice!

Couldn't agree more, drop grate or rocking grate would save a great deal of time... I am sure the drivers would like about 100 less oiling points too;)

Ah well those drivers that want an easy life would be best served working on an original Bulleid instead.

Wait, oh no, then they will complain they are too hot! No pleasing some it seems. Lol

An original Bullieds prep is an easy life compared to Nellie... but you are right about the heat not an engine to be on in July!

According to SR charter page there is also a photo charter for 34007 before the boiler expires. With any luck the MHR web site will publicise this coming Saturday being the last public running day for 34007 Wadebridge. Let's hope the railway gets a good turnout for this coming Saturday.

    Lets hope so too
No working Bulleid on the MHR after 6th March....no Bodmin, no Swanage, no CanPac, no Wadebridge.....les hope that the putative "fast-track" overhaul of 850 (into lovely BR Green) won't delay the return of 34105 by too long.

It's a shame that the MHR are not operating a three train service like they did for 73096's farewell. That was a bit different though I guess as she left the MHR. Still, I suppose 34007 will go to the back of the overhaul queue and it will be a long time before she operates again. Even though she was not the most reliable of loco's she is still one of my favourites. I attended her very first day of service on the MHR, 22nd April 2007 and had a very good round trip behind her. A great first impression that has stayed with me.
Does anyone know what else will be rostered for this weekend? Any chance 30541 can be used again as 41312 & 45379 are both in the works?
I guess 925 will be the other loco in use though....

Just wondering how many of us will still be a live and kicking when 34007 renters service again.

Led to believe 92212 is the other loco in service next weekend.

From what I understand, 34007 will be on the Alton diagram next Saturday & sporting a headboard - hopefully not the 'Pines Express'......... & the long range weather forecast suggests decent weather too.....

Going to miss Wadebridge. It will be weird having no Bulleid Pacific on theMHR for what I imagine will be quite some time. I do hope we get a few of 'em to enliven future galas. Wells would be a good start. btw is the diesel gala still happening?

That's a shame, I was hoping for spamcan haulage in the evening, but I guess we'll get the 9F instead (nothing wrong with the 9F, but it would have been nice to give Wadebridge one last heavy train up the hill).

With any luck 34105 Swanage won't be to many years off. Led to believe there could be an update on the diesel gala in the near future.

Doesn't 34007 look nice sporting white buffers and white lamp irons. Gets my vote :):)
