MHR Diesel gala and diesel running days 2016

Has it been called off as its gone very quite.
Chatting with a colleague of mine earlier in the week who expressed an interest in going.
Do I tell him its still happening or not?

 

Latest from "Communication Cord" - the mid Hants internal volunteer bulletin- is that a deal is close to being signed for some new resident diesels and visitors fot the gala to replace the two 37's that are being sold by their owner to Colas. Last week, the RAT stock- 6 coaches- was taken from Alresford to Ropley by the Alresford 08!

 

Led to believe there will be an update on the gala soon.

We heard this last night (though not the line up) and the fact that prices were being dropped for the diesel weekend due to the delay in being able to get a lineup nailed down.
A crompton, 37 and a couple of grids + the home fleet. What's not to like
Just need to sort out which day(s) I'm on the bar now

Ta much for the info....... looks like a decent line up.
I wish you all the success and that it turns out to be one of the best galas of the year...
I wonder if I can persuade work to let me have a couple more days off?

 

That's good news. I will attend the event as I have never travelled behind a Class 56 before.
I hope the Railway does better financially than the last event.

Looking at the time table the last round trip leaves Alresford at 18.25 returning to Alresford at 19.45.

 

Have reshuffled my leave....... Off to Hampshire I must go....

 

A quick message for those of you attending by SWT. Please note that the line between Farnham and Alton is currently shut due to an "embankment problem" which probably means subsidence. Buses are running between Farnham and Alton at the moment. Don't know how long this will continue for.

Are any visiting locos coming in by rail? I hope the repairs are completed in time.

 

I think the it's "not before Monday" which is slightly different, and more worrying.

 

Latest update on SWT website says the line between Alton and Farnham will be shut until Wednesday 20th April

 

Mid Hants doesn't have much luck with diesels...getting a bit close to the edge now,
Guess if it all goes tits up a day with the shunters and 37901 & lion would do, depends on getting to mhr by rail for me,

Mhr needs some support they are trying with the diesel angle unlike some lines.

 

Hopefully open BT next Saturday so I can get to gala

 

There is bustitution, so you will be able to get there.

 

33053 should arrive Monday or Tuesday. Just have to wait and see what happens with the main line locos.
