Lovely sunny Wednesday afternoon working at home - how convenient to have a late lunch and pop out to see a bit of local mainline steam!

37706 and 47760 pilot 46100 'Royal Scot' past Colwich on the 5V44 1350 Crewe to Southall move.

Nice to see some smart diesels for the royal occasion (assuming that these are for the SD event).

Already done a sedate run to and from Chester with support coach. Currently on its second run between Crewe and Chester, probably slight increase in speed but obviously first run was ok.

It could possibly be like that. Just one carriage for a select few who can afford the £5000 Std Class ticket price for a Steam assisted Diesel hauled Steam Railtour ;)

    Pure guess.
The support coach that was unused because the A1 Trust coach went instead on the 60103 debut.
The former was taken back to NRM the week following it was reported.

I happened to be in York and paid homage to FS yesterday, first time I'd been in the cab of an A3 since 60077 at KX in at a guess 1961. The guide said FS is going back to Bury next week for further work on the brakes.
