Good that we get the steam coming out of Penzance on day 2 though!

 

It seemed to be alright before Christmas, and it was given some lottery cash to help restore it completely? Maybe not enough time to gauge Royal Scot for the st.blazey yard?

There is currently a feasibility study being undertaken by the town council to see if they can turn the roundhouse and surrounding buildings into a railway heritage centre and workshops, so watch this space!

 

What would be good

 

I was thinking of photographing this at either Slough or Sonning Cutting but can anyone tell me if the masts have yet gone up there yet

 

They certainly had at Taplow, some had gone up at Iver on my last visits

No masts at Sonning Cutting as of 14th April.

Tha would be such a boost for St Blazey if it happenend! We need more steam visits to Cornwall.

I know most of them already but I wasn't sure how far the electrification has progressed. I say most but there aren't that many between London and Reading. My second location will hopefully be at Crofton by the Kennet and Avon Canal.

According to UKSteam it's 46100+44871. Can't see them topntailing those two.
Also, according to both UKSteam and RTT, 44871 is coming down to Southall on Monday.

 

It will be a double header, I assume with the 5 on the front but GW and WR practice was to couple the pilot on the inside so who knows.

Looks like day 2 is up!

 

I and my pals have decided we will join the caravan with our video cameras, and there should be a DVD or BluRay disc in the fullness of time. I'm sorry, I can't post footage while on the road in the way that some can, but I'll try to pass on any snippets of gen that I pick up as I go. Got a "new" car to run in as well. The old Skoda Fabia has been retired with only 217,500 miles on the clock in favour of a Mk 3 Fabia with less than 100 miles on the clock, but "pre-registered" 10 months ago, so a third off list price (though no one pays list for a new car, do they?)

 

It will be "5" being pushed by "7P"!!
