I've just photographed the convoy of diesels that are en route from Swanage to the SVR. The train passed Bristol Parkway on time at 16:20 and consisted of 66.748 plus D5580, 50.035, D182, D213 'Andania', 20.142 and 20.205. <BJ>

Is there no possible resolution to the 40 issue, even at this late stage ? Or do we have to accept it and move on ?

    I don't know. The SVR's statement was:

"The non-availability of Class 26 No. 26007 and Class 40 No. D213 for the Spring Diesel Festival is very unfortunate.

The SVR has a close working relationship with many diesel owners and owning groups.

We respect the need for discretion and confidentiality with all agreements and negotiations with owners, and therefore we cannot divulge the reasons why the Class 26 and 40 are no longer available.

Suffice to say that the SVR is disappointed that this has happened, however, this does not diminish what promises to be a great event!"

As a 40 fan myself, I too am disappointed that her and the McRat have been lost, but such is life, I have two days guarding and one day griceing and I plan to have fun despite this little set back, would be nice to meet a few of you (Especially those who read my notes else where on this forum) and hopefully make a few new friends whilst inhaling copious amounts of diesel fumes! lol

    One final surprise announcement...

DCR Class 31 No. 31452 will be making an appearance at the Spring Diesel Festival this week, alongside fellow Class 31 No. 5580.

The updated timetable with locomotive allocations is now available online too.
