At Fawley Hill today noted a 2nd Shark B/V in grey. Was advised by someone there that they had done a swap with a GW Toad to Isfield, so presumably the Shark was 993762, but it had no number. Assume Toad 68564 now at Isfield. Reason was that the Toad had too long a wheelbase for Fawley Hill apparently.

I can confirm that the wheelbase of the Toad was too long for the curves at the bottom of the hill!

On the A483, heading north at Ruabon, about 7pm this evening, what looked like a US style Narrow Gauge (?) coach; clerestory roof, balcony ends, dark green livery, with a large gold painted name on the side, which I didn't catch as I was heading the opposite way. Any ideas what it was please?

Hope I have the number correct. This is a standard BR box van with planked sides, parked OOU inside the abandoned Buxton DMU depot for many years. That has recently been demolished and the contractors created a road access of sorts in the process. The van is now at Wirksworth and restoration has begun. The van will be restored with its current Enparts markings, "to work between Buxton TMD and Longsight only". I think there are only two more of these left on the network.

It's B761561, 024798 is the later Internal User number and has no prefix. http://www.departmentals.com/departmental/024798
