Unfortunately not, to gain site access you need a full ticket. If it's of any use, tickets after 3pm are reduced price, adult down from £25 to £16. Particularly on the Saturday they're good value.

As for a nice picnic spot, no where immediately springs to mind I'm afraid, all I can suggest is have a look at an OS map and take a picnic blanket.

Towards Cheltenham. All GWR designed locos are facing Cheltenham, anything else is facing Toddington.

Thanks for the reply although that is a little disappointing. We would most likely have spent some money in the shop or café. The Gcr charges £5 for a platform ticket (refundable against travel) and we have spent several cracking afternoons at Quorn. The Steam, Steel & Stars events have always been accessible via platform ticket too. Unfortunately 15:00 would be too late for us to get back to Wales with our daughter. We shall probably observe from afar now.

The field at Didbrook (just south of Toddington) is a nice spot, no doubt there will be photographers there as well.

"I'd like to get a brakevan ride in this year, how fast do the tickets normally go for that? Do I need to go and get myself one as soon as I arrive at Toddington?"
Suggest you come and see us on the Trust Stand, next to the Flag and Whistle as soon as you can after arrival at Toddington for the best choice. It is a great experience, well worth the extra cost! :)

Presumably the 08:10 (or something like that) departure from Toddington shown on the previous version of the timetable is now an ECS working to get loco A and stock 2 to Cheltenham for the 09:05 departure?

I believe that has been the case for the last couple of years. Means there's an empty train for the hoards at Cheltenham to get in to rather than an already partially filled one.

Care to explain that comment please?

£10 for fuel plus £50 for travel versus £10 for fuel to get there and no travel...?? Bit of a difference. If you want me to Pm you a copy of my bank statement I'll happily do so.

Lovely day at the GWSR today. All the locos looked great and 7903 Foremarke Hall especially so. I have no idea where the box it came out of was though. The 35006 team must have been extremely proud of their efforts, what a beauty. Go and have a look!
