    Yellow timetable - Mid August.
What are the Diesel turns likely to be? DMU or is there a chance of some Diesel Hydraulic action?

Ta, I didn't know about that.
The Teddy Bear will be good, just a shame not to see the hymek or western running.
I guess weekdays are DMU then?

    Yes, weekdays are DMU.

During the yellow timetable, only 3 or 4 coaches are spare to form the diesel running set, so it makes sense to utilise the smaller locos like the Teddy Bear. The Hymek gets plenty of runs at other times, and it's still a bit doubtful when the Western will be running again.

Tomorrow it's taking 10 coaches on the 1105 BL and returning with 6 on the 1525 MD.

Unfortunately D7017 has a problem and is likely to be replaced by Class 33 D6575 on Sunday.

I went there for D7017 yesterday and we had two fine runs. Thanks for the photo Robin. The driver told me there was a problem and it was stuck in 2nd gear but should be OK for the gala weekend. The Western is scheduled for the PLC AGM weekend so I'll probably stay on for the Sunday as well.

You are very welcome. I have known the WSR since 1979 (when I was but 15) and the Hymek has been here all that time, so it and the WSR are inextricably linked for me....

A few posts above, #1642 to be precise, I gave a link to diesel running dates. It's on there, assuming they get it running satisfactory. If they don't, then it's anyone's guess when it will return.

I am on the 1235 service from BL. Crowcombe Heathfield signal box invaded by swarming bees. More later if I can find out.

  18. Ultra smooth ride on the Quantock Belle yesterday behind our Midland 4F. Most unusually, and possibly uniquely for a regular QB working, the locomotive was turned at Minehead so that it ran chimney first in both directions. None of us can recall this happening before. Fringe benefit of having our Company GM on the regulator perhaps?

Ha ha! A long time ago.:) On the return journey the CH box seemed to be locked out with all traffic using the down line. At least there were no UXBs this time.:D:D
