Help us restore ‘Jurassic’ back to steam

After a period of over twenty five years the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway Historic Vehicles Trust ( LCLRHVT) has reached agreement with the LCLR Company to restore ‘Jurassic’ ( Peckett 1008 of 1903) back to steam.
Although we have explored obtaining a grant to help with restoration cost it looks like we will have to do the job ourselves, starting with fund raising !
To get a ten year boiler ticket, and do some basic remedial work to the chassis, we estimate we will need at least £30,000.
We have commitments for a number of large donations, but this project needs your support as well. We are asking you to commit to donate a fixed sum of between £10 and £20 per month for 36 months. Larger donations, are of course, even more welcome. We expect Jurassic to have returned to service by that time.
We also need a dedicated team to disassemble the locomotive, do some of the engineering work whilst contractors do the really big stuff, and then re-assemble it.
Once available for traffic we would like to steam Jurassic at least ten times per year at Winthorpe. This will also require a commitment from volunteers to train as cleaners, firemen and even drivers.
To donate, or for further information please contact :
LCLRHVT, 17 Church Street, Northborough, Peterborough, PE6 9BN

We have started to assess the condition of Jurassic, there will be usual problems of extensive boiler work, a saddle tank that leaks etc.

One big problem is we have one Gresham & Craven No 3 backhead injector, the second one is missing ( believed stolen many yearsago). Does anyone known of the whereabouts of a spare ? Any condition considered, as we will probably have to remake the cones for our exiting one. Please PM me if you have any information.

    Regards

What has been for the last 50 years, Darlington apple green.

It will look much nicer with our Crimson Lake Ashover No2, and the grey of 2572 Class D, you can see the rolling stock at our Gala on July 16th.

    Regards

    Peter
