Presumably, the sponsors want to go through some major centres of population where they can stop, hold a press conference, kiss a few babies, etc in the hope of getting coverage from the local radio and press? Carnforth and Hellifield are probably not high on their list. Stockport, Manchester, Sheffield and/or Leeds would be more what they're after. However, unless Boris has got friends at Milton Keynes, they probably won't know what they've been given until the day before.

These trains have today been removed from the Steam Dreams website, and I believe they have been cancelled.

So the Brexit specials may be unfulfilled promises then. That sounds familiar. :)

Not sad to see it cancelled, writing privately (not as SLS rep) hope the vote is for IN. Lots of faults, but EU keeps the peace.

The train is empty, no surprise really. People are sick of the whole subject ! If I'm booking on a steam tour, I don't want to be talking politics all day.

Do you think they will blame its cancelation on EU Bureaucracy?

Pedant mode on. These threads are about (steam) charters and not the political reason why the charters run or are planned to run. Let's keep politics out of it. There is a separate thread elsewhere for that. Pedant mode off.

Time for this thread to close, I suggest.

The Crewe - York train seems to have been reactivated as an Excursion on UK Steam

Can't find it to book anywhere. Not on SD or UKRT. Perhaps it's a Private Charter now to get 46100 to York as it's going to Dereham from there on Wednesday.

There is an excursion now showing on Real time trains from Crewe to York timed at 60mph, leaves Crewe at 10.44, then Blackburn 12.19-12.39, Copy Pit 13.11, Brighouse 13.41-13.58, arrives York 15.06, also looks like Scotsman is going from York to Crewe the same day

That's irrelevant, blame can/will still be put down to WCRC by some.
