It's a while since I've been - I couldn't remember how you get to the Up platform at Williton!

Definitely an issue at Blue Anchor though.

Our TTIs usually ask passengers where they intend to alight so they can advise them the best end of the train to be. If they chose to ignore the advice, then it is an issue! However, in 13 years of working on WSR trains, I cannot recall an occasion when I have been told that I left anyone behind at Blue Anchor.

    Here's a genuine complaint,
First day 1010 is out alone for the first time in a long Time, Looking and sounding amazing, after all the hard work put into her, the people genuinely here for the loco , get shunted 3 coaches away from the loco and the noise, for the shareholders to have the front coaches...

Such a shame... If its the same situation on the way back, if I knew I'd of stayed at home and came tomorrow.

Ruined the enjoyment of a day I didn't think we would see for a while.

Can't hear the loco 1 because bloody four coaches back and b because coach fives got an horrible wheel flat.

Surely genuine complaints should be sent to the WSR? Nat Pres is not responsible for any actions on the WSR!
You may be pleased to know that the shareholders, who have put a great deal more money into the railway than most of the passengers there for the Western, are booked to return on the 1620 MD.

So your saying the railway doesn't need my money ?my money isn't welcome here ?
Just because I'm not a shareholder.

Won't have any trouble refunding the 19quid then, could have at least put them on the rear but that would be too easy wouldn't it.

Of course I'm not saying that your £19 isn't welcome, but you seem to think that it gives you the chance to dictate how the WSR should run its trains without recourse to operating constrictions.

When you are in Minehead today, I suggest you take your complaints to the office, and get your refund at the same time.

YABU. Apart from special parties there are no seat reservations on the WSR. Buying a ticket does not entitle a passenger to any particular seat. Parties often make block bookings of one or more coaches. Are you suggesting that you should have priority over them as well or are you just objecting to the shareholders once a year trip? In any case if you have a complaint then the appropriate way to make it is to the WSR General Manager not in a public forum.

Thanks for putting Western on turntable. Finally got the shot of the 52 and Yeoman wagon I've wanted to get. She sounds great. Nice to see her out. Not able to travel due to work commitments. Well done to those involved.

But its OK to use Nat Pres to sort out rights and wrongs of an associated body of WSR though.
    Double standards me thinks.

    Just my views

There is a world of difference to debating a situation within the WSRA which happened here and the actual process which took place far from here and the forum has no part in that and never will. It's the same as we are not an official complaints outlet for the WSR or any railway related company so by all means comment and debate on here but as was suggested if someone has a complaint that they feel that strongly about take it to the railway whom I am sure will be happy to discuss the issues, which I believe somebody already suggested, it's sound advice.

Sorry Pete but Nat Pres was used, not saying it was right or wrong to do so, as a mouth piece for those who wanted reform.

Both sides were welcome to the debate - the forum has no preference to either side it was just one chose to make more use of the facilities here...

    Too obvious!

Edited to add that the original plan was that the shareholders coaches would be at the rear (TN end) of the train - some logistical reason changed that.

Funnily enough that was my reaction on Friday and I'm a shareholder! Shareholders were banned from coach 1 as well so we had to make do with coach 2 which was a disappointment to me as I was looking forward to my first Western haulage in quite a while.

To add insult to injury the class 47 substituted on Sunday.

Reserving coaches for certain groups of passengers hardly warrants the pejorative use of the word banning does it? If you had a reserved seat would you be happy if somebody else had taken it? The WSR gets considerable revenue from organised parties that reserve whole coaches so why should a group of people, the shareholders, who contribute thousands every year not be allowed their annual outing? As it happens I am a shareholder who was on that train but since I had not booked a seat I sat elsewhere.
