    In reply to the poster above, I don't know who cast the new driving wheels, but I'm pretty sure that Ian Riley's firm was responsible for putting the new wheelset together, some years ago now. I recall seeing an image of the new wheelset, which may well have been two new wheels and the axle.

    I know information about Carnforth overhauls is minimal, but does anyone know if Galatea has had any new cylinder castings? I think there was talk that the middle cylinder/smokebox saddle casting was very worn.

    Quite incredible to see the loco in mainline service, given that it was originally only thought of as a source of spares. Considerable credit to the WCRC engineers.
