New Brochure and further short breaks and Holidays Emerald Isle Exporer 2017 ( with Manx option), The Moors and Dales Express 2017, and Harz Mouutain Explorer in April 2018 ( including Dresden and Prague and most of the travelling on the German network planned to be steam hauled).

Day trip to Swanage postponed until 28th September 2016.

 

At least you should be able to window hang on that trip.

 

Wondered if it was cancelled rather than postponed?
Not apparent on Steam Dreams website tonight.

 

I see that the Steam Dreams Dates page now shows this Saturday's (9th July) Southend - Worcester trip as "Diesel Hauled". I presume Lizzie's problems are proving to be harder to rectify than first thought.

 

I wonder if Braunton is going to step in. But it has been reported on Icons that she was receiving a boiler wash.

I'm sorry but it still said steam hauled a few hours ago but as has been pointed out it now says diesel. So now we know that 34052 isn't doing anything and that with 45699 being on the RTC tour that is where things are going to stand for Saturday.

There is a report and a picture of 6201 in the latest issue of The Railway Magazine. She is pictured sitting outside the shed at the MRC and the report says it was going to be close if she would be ready or not for the 9th July. So the 9th July SD run is diesel hauled again. I was on the trip last year on the 9th July when 61306 was rostered but then failed her FTR. |Top n tailed diesels last year.

 

Although Lizzie's still listed for the 19th on the Dates page, she has been removed from the Timings page for that date, and no loco is shown instead.

 

Now on the SD website and 6201 listed to haul it.

 

Scots Guardman now down for the trip to Weymouth on the 19/7.
Duchess instead of Lizzie for the trip to York on 14/8.

 

Any idea what's happened with 34052 today? Just seen a video and today's trip is top n tailed by 37685 & 47746, unlucky for some :/

 

Amazed that there isn't more interest in today's 'steam' trip. Have I missed something or are 'Steam Dreams' being boycotted on this forum (notwithstanding the thread title)? To have only one post about today's trip is just bizarre. I was at Clapham Junction this morning and the class 37 was making a meal of accelerating up the grade towards Wandsworth Town - 1750hp vs. possibly a tad more from a light pacific? However, aural memories of the West Highland line in the 1980s were stirred!

 

Steam Dreams twitter feed saying they hope 34052 will be able to work the return leg.

 

Well had it been steam as promised thereight have been - just seen the steamless dream go by my location

 

That'll involve some very quick planning outs to get 34052 from Southall LSL to Bristol in time and with the crews etc

Incidentally, the 37 leading today carried two headboards; the usual Steam Dreams one plus one that read "BSRIA Diamond Express" - does anyone know what this means?
