RTT says Llandudno Junction on the return is from 1727 to 1806.

A superb climb. There was a slip in Pont y Pant tunnel at the top of the 1 in 47, which took us down to around 6.5mph when we emerged.

Luckily, we had some first class driving, feet were found and we gradually accelerated and maintained speed the rest of the way. It would have been a different proposition if it was wet from the beginning, though.

    Great video.
Something sounds very wrong with 46115 on the tender first shot though. Nasty wheel flat on the tender?

I somehow have a feeling that WCRC won't do that again with a Scot in a hurry.

The tender wheel flat was noticeable when it ran round at Llandudno on the outward journey. Just got back after hell (otherwise known as roadworks) on the M62 around Leeds. Very pleased to have been on this trip.

Not sure how a noise (wheel flat) was so pronounced in reverse and yet not heard going forward. I was listening from the first coach in several places on the way back and heard nothing.
After a signal check before Wigan, Mr Kelly make an enthusiastic start and we roared through the station picking up speed and climbed to Boars Head in fine style.
Although I was not able to do the complete trip I think it should be put forward as tour of the year.
It ran as scheduled, the last minute loco change enhanced the interest considerably to the extent that there does no appear to be any record of a Scot going to Blaenau before, and there was no diesel in sight, and therefore not one complaint from either passengers or keyboard experts.

Looks like an excellent trip, video uploading at the moment with shots from Preston (Flag Lane), Helsby, Roman Bridge (see pic), Blaenau Ffestiniog, Tal-y-cafn and Colwyn Bay. Hope it runs again next year, think I need to give this one a go.

There is something in here that needs to be acknowledged:
    - the preparedness of WCRC to operate it
    - the preparedness of the RTC to possibly take a slight loss in running it.

I enjoyed steam to Blaenau with a couple of Stanier 2-6-4s with 7 on when the world was different. No problems at all. We also went to Denbigh :( and 70004 was 'on the quick side' coming home along the coast. Rhyl to the signal stop outside Chester in 28.5 min - i.e. inside even time. But I agree that if the RTC/WCRC are prepared to run it again with the same arrangement (but not necessarily the same loco), I'd put my hand in my pocket.

If the margins are tight on the trip, I do wonder if a couple of additional coaches on the Preston - Llandudno Jct stretch, which could be shunted off and left in the siding at Llandudno Jct, to offer a separate option of a day out in Llandudno.
