I wonder what the theme for the event will be

 

Well as the year seems to be getting away from us quicker than ever we reach a point where we're mid way through the summer.

Was just wondering what the plans were for this gala. I'm sure things are in motion but it seems strangely quiet for an event that's only a couple of months or so away.

 

Good three months yet, guess they won't be a gala theme. Hoping for a good visitor loco.

 

First guest announced, 4612 from Bodmin railway. Good start. Would love 3205 from SDR to visit line again.

 

Now 6023 would be welcome!

Oh yes please never seen a King before just manors, castles and halls....

 

4612 and 5542, Same visitors from 2014... Not a great start tbh.

 

6024 has made several visits in the past, but 6023 would indeed be a welcome visitor.

 

and 6024 is there now....

Not disputing that,

Its more the lack of imagination,But we should come to expect that,

 

Just like we've come to expect your negative and moaning posts.

 

Well quite a lot of it is.

 

I suspect it could also be a lack of available locos, October seems to be a popular month for steam galas.

 

The WSR Gala timetable has been criticised for being unimaginative. Some weeks ago I posted a copy and invited worked-out suggestions for improvement.

I have had a grand total of NO replies.

Would it not be a good idea to wait for the finalised line-up to be published before criticising the 'lack of imagination'?

 

Always the same Ian, criticism of the (early) line up for the annual paraffin bash at the ELR, lots of suggestions of 'poor' etc. Come the event a wonderful line up was the result. Personally I like to wait and be (pleasantly) surprised by the usual very good outcome. Hotel booked, looking forward to it as usual.

 

Robin, which thread did you post the timetable in? I seem to remember seeing it before, but can't remember for the life of me where you posted it.
