UK steam indicates electric to Preston then steam with diesel on the rear to Carnforth. Presumably the diesel is on from Euston?

 

Load 11 with no diesel on arrival at Carnforth from Euston.

37688 added at Carnforth. AN

 

37668 on the rear.

 

And according to RT trains losing time ever since the 37 was hung on. 15 min down at Tebay.

 

06/08/2016 - Jubilee - 45690 "Leander" heads north from Preston at Bilsborrow with the "Cumbrian Mountain Express" to Carlisle and return.

 

A Trans Pennine went through about 10 mins before Leander at Low Gill. Not sure if it was late running, but probably a factor.

 

Pretty obvious the 'Routes with Significant Gradients' rules are being applied to the letter. 2 coaches too many for a Jubilee on Shap.

 

The TP was running 13 late from Wigan. All WCML trains behind it are 10+ late.

 

Be interesting to see if they leave the 37 at Carlisle. Not needed for the climb of Shap on the return as it's all less than 1 in 100.

I take it as a sign that Mr. Beets wants his locomotive to perform whether it is with assistance or not. He goes by the rules
