    Clearly the light was out at Hook, surprised it wasn't checked during the stop at Woking. I know its one of the things carried in the support coach so would have been the work of moments to change.

    Providing they were carrying one - seem to remember a similar incident when they didn't carry one.

    Its usually the kind of thing carried, as you say Failure of lamps is common place, I have a vid of UoSA's one being changed somewhere.

    I recall that on that magical Don Clarke homeward run with Clan Line in July 2012, we left Waterloo in the morning with a tail light still on the buffer beam. But such is the advantage of technology that when the problem was spotted the crew was radioed and asked to stop at the next convenient spot and remove it. This was Earlsfield. We then ran to the water stop at Overton in even time. I call that a result!
