'Fairbourne In The Hills'

The Friends of the Kirklees Light Railway will be holding their 11th annual gala over the weekend of the 10th & 11th September 2016. We are delighted to announce the event will feature the following visiting engines:

Sian

Count Louis

Diesel Locomotives and items from Austin Moss' historic Fairbourne collection


There may be another suprise visitor - subject to confirmation

These locomotives will be operating alongside our home fleet Katie, Badger, Hawk, Owl, Jay & Tram No.7

This will be the first opportunity to see Katie and Sian together again since Katie's extensive restoration work by Austin Moss and Sian's overhaul by members of the Sian Project Group.

All visiting locomotives and our home fleet are all subject to availability on the day of the event.

Son's (Monopodman) video of Sundays excellent event. Great weather and two superb visiting steam locos Sian and Count Louis. We've been to every gala since 2010 and its never rained on us.

Popped up on Saturday, had a return trip with Sian and Katie which was lovely! Very quiet at the Shelley end of the line.

Had a bit of a chat with Sian's crew, sounded like they were having a few little niggles on Saturday- understandable being as they only finished re-assembly earlier in the week!
