    Hi all

I know there are books etc available on this subject, but I was wondering if anyone keeps a record of which parts from which locos are where.

As an example Maid Marion on the Bala lake Railway is more Kings of Scarlet than Maid Marion, so to follow this through where is the genuine Maid Marion frames and what loco name does it go by now?

I don't have my copy to hand at present but, IIRC, there is a section in "Quarry Hunslets of N.Wales" which describes the current situation. I think the DQR workshop just seemed to build up a loco from available parts!

Maid Marian's frames are under King of the Scarlets, whilst her tank and boiler are on Velinheli. Hence why the three were United at Bala Lake recently.

Most owners have a good idea of what 'wrong' bits are on their engine.

Thank You Charles, I guess that at some stage when bits need replacing they wont be off the old locos but will be built to retain what a certain loco looks like now.
