Hi Chris It was me who got confused as to which station was in the film, I have just had a look on Google maps and to be honest I can't see where this proposal is going to take place in or around Midford, there is one bridge which has been removed so I think that would put any stop to any consideration of rebuilding the railway.

Like everyone else I will have to wait to see what happen next.

It's for that reason, I can't see it being able to pay it's own way, most films with viable attractions in their name tend to be huge blockbusters that stand the test of time, while the Thunderbolt has followers, I doubt there are the numbers to make a tourist attraction to it pay.

 

I'm sure non operational replica's could be cobbled together relatively cheaply, if there was demand for static loco's.
