NYMR Autumn Gala

Pity the Welsh gala theme resulted in the missed opportunity to recreate the famed Wansbeck Piper railtour on its fiftieth anniversary. Coupled tender to tender this pair could easily have doubled for the pair of Ivatt Class 4s used on that 1st Oct 1966 tour which resulted in some memorable photographs. But hey - you cannot recreate everything I guess.

A brilliant gala, yet again the folks at the NYMR failed to disappoint and even provided sunshinse during most of the mornings on Friday and Saturday and even into the afternoons. Seeing two of the visitors on the early morning freight charters was also superb. Congratulations to all involved, and I must thank the staff who were at all times, most welcoming and warm.

2807 arrived back in Grosmont this evening in steam (light?) pushed by the 37.

 

I wondered if that might have happened but I couldn't find anything when I searched.

76084 just off shed for long Whitby which I didn't expect. Don't suppose the seals that were there last night to see the train will still be there!!

 

Are the moors doing a spring gala next year? Any dates details?

 

Supposedly both Spring and Diesel galas are being dropped next year.

7822 just arrived back at Grosmont.

 

And may be on back (?) of 13:30 Pickering after giving up on it being on 12:30 (that left 12:55 with just 6046).

Quite fun here today with the unpredictable happening.

 

Good day on Saturday, pity about 2807 but 61264 a good alternative. Mixed luck with the sunshine, a bit hit and miss. Six shots, thanks to all for the organisation and wonderful show.

 

Thought I should also add in this, the real star of the show!

Yearly event at the Moors anyone? Perhaps Prince next time.....
