    Yes I think you are right and 4767 is the only one with the later boiler with the top feed on the front ring

    It must have been a St Rollox overhaul in 1962 when it acquired boiler no. 12823 which is a front ring top feed unit, 12870 is fitted to 4767, so I would say yes it does have the later boiler design. I'm on the GC tomorrow for a charter so I'll have a look.

    1968? Not likely. Several of them went on to much greater success in railway preservation.

    According to the last Society Journal I received the answer is yes so it won't be long before we have a Jubilee back in proper BR livery.

    I said proper meaning the one people remember, 5690 is correct in that it and several other Jubilees appeared in BR lined Black, to be 100% right for that engine it should have BRITISH RAILWAYS on the tender. The red one is of course totally wrong.

    Strictly speaking, John, this engine didn't acquire its double chimney until 1961 so for full authenticity we are looking at BR lined green with the later crest on the tender.

    I think that is the livery that has been chosen. The Society still has a lot of the original members on the management committee so is less likely get it wrong. Prior to the double chimney I think it ran with a Fowler tender for a few years
