Really enjoyed today. The crab looked fantastic and 813's paint shone in the transient Winter sun.

IIRC for the Pacific Power event there were travellers parked in the Blackstone car park. Anyone know if they are still there?

My footage of the Gala. 813 perfomed exceptionally during my visit. The gala went well with hardly any trains running late. Enjoy.

"Taken ill" is something of a general statement which always begs the question of why the person can't be moved to the platform or the train moved to a more convenient station to get help. From information received from a fellow passenger who witnessed the event the incident was in the side corridor and the person was complaining of severe back pain so quite understandably a decision to await the professionals was taken. In the circumstances I feel it would be rather unfair to criticise the SVR.

Agreed. I also have no problem with "taken ill" -- it's a readily understood catch-all that gives the public a general explanation for the significant delay without invading the passenger's privacy. The important thing thereafter is that the public are kept informed of what's going on -- if you're waiting at Arley, say, you need to know whether the next northbound train will take you to Bridgnorth or terminate at Highley. The fingerposts aren't that obvious if you've not visited before.

Anyway, I had a very enjoyable day out yesterday, with better weather than today and very good timekeeping throughout. As has already been said, the Crab looked resplendent when the sun was out, especially with the rake of matching coaches. I'll join the chorus of approval for 813, though: clearly (and deservedly) a very popular little engine, and probably my star of the day. Also good to see the cleared land at Bridgnorth ready for redevelopment. Most trains were very well loaded, and I had to stand in corridors twice -- not exactly the usual form in November! Well done to all concerned, and I hope that it proves to have been a worthwhile exercise for the railway. I don't know whether anything is planned for this slot next year -- there's nothing on the published calendar, and assuming the ASG returns to normal I wouldn't expect something on this scale, but a lower-key event to mark the end of the season might be attractive.

Many thanks to all the hundreds of people who thought that GWR 813 was the Star of the Gala, we were overwhelmed by the complements received via the Sales Stand at Kidderminster Station.

Definitely star of the show, a cracking run up from Hampton to Bridgnorth at lunch time.

Her performance from Bewdley to the Tunnel on Saturday was possibly one of my finest moments during my filming visits to the railway. Even Tornado doesn't get the same plaudits. It goes to show that little engines can do big things and it's proven this weekend.
