I suspect so, Victor is definitely at the LHR.

Thanks gentlemen, That has answered one query for me straightaway.
It would still be useful if anyone has any tips and hints.

    Bagnall 2746 "The Duke"

Assembly of the valve motion is now complete. The brake column has been erected on the footplate and linked to the brake shaft and rear axle brakes.

    Cathryn

The frames of Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T at Wirksworth were craned onto the wheels yesterday. The boiler is away under contract repair.

    Vulcan

Has had a spell at the National Railway Museum but is now back at Beamish and should be participating in the Great North Steam Fair before returning to Barrow Hill.

Thought this would be a good spot to add this.

Fife Heritage Railway have almost completed the restoration of "Forth", ticket acquired in August and now in a state of being run in. Still to finish the lining but made her first public appearance Sunday 30th October! The first steam loco on a heritage railway in Fife since the closure of Lochty in 1992.

Quick update on works in progress from Foxfield.

Hunslet Austerity 'Wimblebury' has now had the boiler retubed and is being prepared for hydraulic and steam tests whilst the frames, wheels, tank and cab are being repainted and inside motion reassembled.

RSH 'Eustace Forth' is having boiler repairs carried out off site and it is anticipated that this will be completed for the loco to be reassembled and steamed next year.

Work is progressing on Hawthorn Leslie 'Marston, Thompson & Evershead Ltd No.3' and the bottom end is nearly ready to reassemble once painting and lining of the frames is finished and work is progressing on replacement of the outer sides on the firebox.

Hi Tim, this must be a different 'Vulcan' to the one I was helping to strip this morning. Must check it out. By the way, started taking down the motion today, softly, softly, plenty photos, careful marking and we are winning so far.

Presumably the 'Vulcan' at Beamish is Vulcan Foundry 3272 of 1819 ( or it is in my records). I'm not aware of another one, or has it moved?

Edit - A quick google has identified to me that your WGB 2994/1951 was previously 'Vulcan' but I had it recorded as No 401/ Thomas Burt. This was from the Wikipedia entries for 'North Tyneside Steam Railway'. It is also labelled as 401 on NTSR website gallery.

If your information is correct it was very advanced for 1819!

    AB 1719 'Lady Nan'

The injectors on AB1719 'Lady Nan' have proven troublesome over the recent years basically because they are worn out. These were the original Andrew Barclay 5mm type.
    Body 2.JPG

I have now purchased a pair of new Gresham and Craven 5mm injectors.
    P1070846a.JPG

As the boiler 10 year certificate expires this month I did a temporary fit to test the functioning of the new injectors and I am pleased to report that they worked perfectly. Now to get on with the overhaul for a fast turn round. I will update this forum on progress.

Other news from Foxfield is that Andrew Barclay Fireless locomotive 1984/1930 'Boots No.1' is the subject of a long term loan agreement that will see her heading to the South West for restoration to working order.

Out of interest, how will you charge the steam reservoir?

That's for the restoring group to deal with.

What I was asking was what will provide the supply of steam/hot water for the reservoir? In the past I understand it was generally from the factory boilers.

I'm not part of the group the loco is going on loan to so I cannot answer your question.

In the past Quainton Road filled its fireless from another loco (Coventry) via a feed put in for it - not very quick as it was relatively small 1" (?) or less but it did work.

I think that's also how ARPG do the one in Ayrshire.

I noted via the Cornwall Railway Society's website that "Merlin", the Darlington Peckett, has gone on hire to the Plym Valley Railway. A check of that railway's facebook pages also revealed that the line is the new home of "Vanguard", one of the Polish USA tanks erstwhile of the Northampton & Lamport.

    Bagnall 2746 The Duke.

A few things are coming together nicely. The new floor has been laid in van No.2, which now houses the boiler cladding sheets out of the rain for the winter. All brake blocks work off the hand brake, though the alignment of one of them needs correcting. The valve gear works off the reversing lever. The cab sides have been bought in and lifted onto the footplate ready for reassembly, attention is currently focused on the steam heat system. Best of all, our boiler contractor has got the lease of his new works, so we are hoping for great things.
