Providing that this trip runs to its advertised route, does anyone know the mileages for the Todmorden Curve?

A useful source of mileage data that is in the public domain (as opposed to, say, the Railway Performance Society mileage database, which is subscription-based and member-only access) can sometimes be the mileage tables that accompany the individual train running detail offered by the Real Times Trains website. And as it happens, looking at the data for Todmorden right now, clicking on the entry for 2J65 19.20 Blackburn to Manchester Victoria gives you all the basic mileage data you need covering the new Todmorden Curve in the direction of travel planned for the Buxton Spa Express. The relevant link is

    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y65317/2017/01/07/advanced

Take a look, but just for convenience, the following summary extracted from this data picks up a few intermediate points that are recorded on RTT and relevant to the BSE itinerary as it progresses from its scheduled Blackburn call to the point where it turns south to Ashton Moss / Denton/ Stockport at Brewery Junction

    Blackburn 0M 0C Burnley Manchester Road 11M 25C Stansfield Hall Jc. 19M 62C

    Todmorden 20M 17C Rochdale 28M 74C Brewery Junction 37M52C

    Hope this helps!!

The Three sides of the triangle are as follows
A Todmorden Viaduct Jtn(19m30c) - West Curve - Stansfield Hall Jtn is 18c
    B Stansfield Hall Jtn(30m24c) - Hall Royd Jtn(30m54c) is 30c
    C Todmorden Viaduct Jtn(19m30c) - Hall Royd Jtn(19m61c) is 31c
Todmorden is at 19m13c and Burnley Manc Rd is 21m67c on the 2 different routes

Already done the curve, but with 47 haulage..... so that doesn't really count for much.
As I've not been asked to work on this, I've booked 1st, just to re-enforce 'enthusiasts do use other than standard', ;)

When I suggested this trip to Mrs W she questioned if it would be the wisest of decisions given the time of year, the necessary early start and the destination. What she actually said was, "Only an idiot would get up at that time in the morning at the beginning of February to go to Buxton." . . . . I'm on it!

I'm still considering whether I should be even more of an idiot and go to Buxton twice in the same month...

Don't know. Went to the Cheshire Cheese Inn during the diesel gala Buxton Spa Express I did last September. Not a bad pub, as is the King's Head, but its a bit of an uphill walk.

Like all Spoons, cheap and cheerful, not far from the station.

Down the hill, under the viaduct, opposite side, It's a bit characterless for a spoons, otherwise exactly the same as the rest.
