Thanks Dave, the update on the website mentioned 4 components to be acquired and machined. Have they been sorted out already?

@northernsteam To clarify the situation with the frame extension components. The outstanding component to allow the frame assembly to be completed is the rear dragbox fabrication. The other items mentioned on the website are to complete the 'frame assembly' stage of the project but are not show stoppers to the assembly actually commencing.

Thanks for the whistle link @fergusmacg. I believe we already have a whistle in stock.

    Dave

The latest SR tells me that the dragbox has now been ordered. Excellent news, how is the funding coming on? The website seems a bit out-of-date in that regard.
    Happy New Year everyone!

Funding is coming along fine - though we can never have too much!
    Frame Model.PNG
When all the current parts are assembled, the frame will look like this, though this is without the frame extensions and dragbox. the member who has made this model for us will make the extra parts soon, and they will be added once available.
Currently the model is with Ian Riley (E) Ltd, and is being used by them as an aid in working out the sequence of construction.

I see that more metal has been received, 2 more fully machined items for the frame assembly, with the 'big brutes' (the 3 steel frame stretchers) and 4 fabricated ones next on the machines. Gradually they are getting to a state to assemble the frames with most of their additional parts, but not the cylinders at present.

The latest components received are these - the smoke box saddle, with incorporated exhaust steam manifold. The smaller component is the frame stretcher with boiler carrier. These are both ready for fitting into the frames.
As Northernsteam states, the major castings for the lower frame, and the horizontal pressed stretchers will be collected from store during the next week, and will in their turn go for final machining.

The last image is of the horizontal stretchers that are also off for final machining. The smaller triangular sections of metal are some of the bront buffer beam gussets, which will also be required for the assembly process.

Keep following us, one and all - more photographs of progress as soon as we have them.

Those triangular cutouts look conveniently big enough ( for fitting an airpump through).

Interesting news from AMRC whose students have helped to produce CAD's, 3d printed items and assembly proofs, now in an association with the new Maclaren Factory....!

No thanks, I think we already have a set of steel ones ready to fit. But i am sure we can find a use for carbon fibre somewhere else!
Latest web news is very interesting, progress is being made.

I suspect that might depend on contractors workload somewhat!;)
    (Checks web site)
...but we won't wait around until that gets done will we? No, let's get those trucks built and the cylinders cast. Lots of parts still to make before we have a completed item......... Now then, who wants to build a boiler for us?:)
