Must have been a very spirited run by Tornado or plenty of leeway in the timings as the train is only 15 minutes late arriving at Cardiff despite being 46 minutes late at Bath Spa.

Yes, I'm on that, and also in posh dining in Oct to Newcastle

 

Put it this way, it was ever so slightly faster than our run through Peterborough behind said machine last August. Can't fault the crew and locomotive. Departure now put back to 17:00. Now enjoying Dydd Gwyl Dewi in Spoons.

 

RTT shows only 1 minute gained on the schedule between Swindon and Chippenham.

 

Are you taking your picnic basket on the 29th then? I'm also doing the 1st and 6th May trips , lets hope she gets passed for 90 mph running

I'm sure that I recently saw a class 67 diesel next to Tornado on the S&C. <BJ>

 

I see the local press have reported the arrival with their usual degree of accuracy. Apparently we've all been conned by the A1 Trust, it was lying in a scrap yard for 40 years, and why can't journalists understand the difference between a train and a locomotive?

She never went into temple meads ?

 

Apparently she was turned at Maindee Junction in Newport instead of turning on Cardiff triangle as planned. She's just returned back to Cardiff Canton.

 

Still not left then? Sapperton will be darknees instead of just faint twilight

 

Made a fine sight leaving Swindon, once crossed over from plat 3 to Down Main, nicely opened and could be heard chattering away toward Royal Wootton Bassett. Meagre shot from IPhone if technology works -
