Galatea 11 on, no diesel. Sailed over Shap with Steve Chipperfield at the controls. Sounded and looked superb!

Good stuff. Was your summit speed at the Summit Board or mp 37 1/4?
    Look forward to the videos/soundtracks.

That sounds like one heck of a performance - and kudos to all who have been involved with the 'fine tuning' of 45699. Also, whoever was on the shovel, giving Mr Chipperfield all the steam he wanted, well done :)

Finishing 7 early at Upperby to 5 early at the station, I would imagine that the run from Shap summit was brisk,.

It was, although the GPS on my phone was not working. Most of us who predicted the summit speed on Tom's Shap challenge were between 11 and 20mph, so it was a pleasant surprise how well 45699 performed. Now in The Thin White Duke enjoying a pint of Loweswater Gold.

    Fantastic video.
They have certainly sorted out the fine tuning of 45699 and the firing technique for her.
She was also very impressive on the End of Southern Steam trip last year. We had a cracking run back from Basingstoke to Woking with the wonderful Roar of the Jubilee disturbing the summer evening

Obligatory LMS sticking draincock I see ;) , Joking apart it's good to see Galatea starting to match Leander performance wise.

Great stuff Stephen and I see that you managed a little bit of 'gardening' to give that clear going away shot.;)

Not 100% sure whether this is the document to which you refer - but Version 1 of this has a preparation date of 23rd May, 2016, so it looks about right. And if it is, I hope this helps

That's the one - saved me having to post it, thanks. The Significant Gradients document is an XL spreadsheet - but generally if included load is reduced by a further 2 coaches. Seems like Galatea didn't need to read it!

How pleasing it is to see no box on the back. Long may this continue. :)
