It happens on the MHR. I know a number of working volunteers who have PTS and regularly post images from inside the fence. No reason to suspect that the ELR is that different.

Yes you will have to buy a permit to view, but the DVD is a free gift that comes with that permit.:)

A string of comments, many personal, have been removed for discussion.

You may have already seen it Fred, but there's a short article in the latest Heritage Railway magazine, part of which says (quote) 'among the challenges will be crowd control and parking. We are going to run a bus service to take people from various car parks'.

As a contributor I have obviously seen that item but as a KWVR member I have also spoken to the KWVR regarding certain points which are being clarified; I will pass on any info that I receive for others to note.

I thought you may have seen it but it wasn't obvious to me that you had. Sorry, I was only trying to help.

No need to apologise; the KWVR contact noted that the administration staff are not only dealing with Flying Scotsman arrangements but also membership renewals hence why some details have yet to be looked at. The queries I have raised are some minor details hence they have been left to one side whilst the main arrangements are being dealt with and should be answered before Flying Scotsman arrives. As I noted in my earlier posting I will pass on any relevant info that I receive in response to my concerns but that may be some time yet.

Yellow HST (Track measuring train) through the aire valley yesterday... coincidence perhaps.

Looks like what you now get onboard for your £220 pound has been amended from the complimentary soft drinks and brochure and you now get the following:

Tickets include: Complimentary offering of refreshments:
Outward journey a light lunch of sandwiches crisps and snacks will be served
    Return journey a cream tea.
Complimentary red or white wine and soft juices will also be served throughout.

    An improvement at least:)

Excellent local bus service up both sides of the valley ,it's my mode of transport when visiting. Bus times and stops all on line.

As promised I have now had confirmation from KWVR that all photographers who have bought the lineside passes for the Flying Scotsman visit will be able to use the second train to travel to / from their photographic locations. This will avoid the hassle of trying to park the car (once you've managed to park in the first place !!) and - hopefully - help justify the cost of the permit.

I'll be happy if the weather stays dry - even if it's as dull as yesterday on the S&C !

KWVR just noted on Facebook that only 4 seats remaining, so perhaps the price did not put passengers off as many suspected?

I think this refers to the week of operation on the KWVR (£20), rather than the Settle-Carlisle trip (£220). Can anyone confirm?

Well, that's a stunning result for the KWVR. I wouldn't have thought it possible at that price, but they've obviously done their market research.

    Well done KWVR.

    Oxenhope 0830 – Haworth – Keighley – Skipton – Hellifield – Blea Moor – Appleby – Culgaith – Carlisle.

Carlisle – Carlisle CE335 eRM - Upperby Jn RMOP – Petteril Bridge Jn eRM - Carlisle [Light Engine move]

    Carlisle – Culgaith – Appleby – Blea Moor – Hellifield – Skipton – Keighley – Haworth – Oxenhope.

RTT has no input times yet but I would calculate a Keighley departure around 09:15

I'm hearing rumours of helicopters being present over the S&C, no issue for passengers, but a ball ache for some linesiders.
