I see that 'Gertrude' has been very quietly repatriated from Canada. A nice surprise, and another commendable achievement.

An incredible day at Statfold yesterday. I'd been looking forward to seeing the little Peckett "Liassic" and was not disappointed, an absolute gem of a restoration

Thanks to all for making it such a good day

Where has this been reported please? Is the loco going to Statfold?
Very surprised at this news as it seemed a permanent exhibit in the Canadian museum.

On Narrow Gauge World's Facebook page. There's a photo of the loco on display in the Statfold Museum. Also pictured is Hunslet 0-4-2PT 3756/1952, apparently newly repatriated from Cameroon.

I was also very pleasantly surprised to hear that Gertrude was back in the UK.
I never would've thought that they would let go of that loco.
I will be very much looking forward to seeing her, on my next visit to Stratford

Thanks for that. Great news. Will be interesting to see if Gertrude is left as a sectioned exhibit or if she is restored to working order.

With Gertrude now returned, does that now mean all the ex-North Wales quarry locos are now back in the UK?
I am aware though, that an ex-Penrhyn railway Baldwin, 'Feline Hen' is in France after being exported to Australia.

Although the rail conversion was done at Statfold some years ago the Model T is not a Statfold resident - it belongs to Mr Shooter and lives at the Beeches Light Railway.

Not seen much posted from the June Open day.
I hope to get there in September but any "pleasant surprises" this time and has anything now followed Liassic into the workshops?

    No inside information but...
A lot of outside contract work I believe.

Barber, The Green dragon (STR) and Gelert (WHHR) are all there for work. Cloister is still there not sure if that is for storage or work?

Bronllwyd was(/is) undergoing a 10 yearly overhaul and I suspect some other members of the fleet will be around that mark as well.

Quite a few pictures on Flickr and a fair number in the narrow gauge enthusiast group on the dreaded facecloth.

I had heard the Barclay well tank will be the next one, but yes a lot of outside contract work and the Large Fowler traction Engine may get there first
