Well done for managing to hide the 37 behind the trees. :) I'm assuming they'd run it round at Crianlarich to make shunting easier when they arrived at Fort William.

Ah. Craigendoran then. That would sound better on the climb to Glen Douglas.

Must admit I did not know the 37 would be shifted to the rear at any point as I thought the reason the 37 was doing the work on the front would have been to save on coal .

Don't quote me as I could well be wrong, but I am under the assumption that over the West Highland line the triple heading of locomotives is forbidden due to weight restrictions. I imagine @Ian Riley would be better to provide correct information.

As an aside to the point above, have we had any moves with triple headed locomotives over the WHL recently that may contradict this?

In 1984 were 5407 and 673 not diesel hauled together to FW for the first season ? Weight restrictions may have changed over 33 years of course.

Nice shot Jonathon by the way !

If it is Tornado out on it's 90mph test run, then it's a good start. 27 miles from Doncaster to Colton Jc in around 23-24 minutes according to RTT, which would be an average of 67.5mph start to pass by my calculation?
