Does anyone know many survive and their status.

    3 at Ludborough
    1 at Didcot.

    Sure there are many more.

The Vintage Carriage Trust Wagon Survey Project is probably your friend: http://www.ws.vintagecarriagestrust.org/ws/wsearch.asp
E.G. Selecting "4W Covered Hopper" in the General Wagon type dropdown and then "Grain" in the Specific Wagon type gets these two -

Changing General Wagon type to "4W Hopper Van" gets these three:

    http://www.ws.vintagecarriagestrust.org/ws/WagonInfo.asp?Ref=10388

Suspect there are other permutations you could try.
    Good luck in your research.

In addition to those already mentioned at Dalmellington, Ludborough and Didcot, there is one at Mangapps, one at Quainton Rd. and I believe at least one at Butterley.

The one at Quainton Road was in use in the demonstration goods train last weekend.

The Wagon Survey lists four of this type (specific type = Covgrain) including two at Butterley.
