Can't see this has been mentioned but I don't see anything that looks like a waterstop in those timings?

Yes these are obviously water stops but they are all quite short which is, I suspect, what IKB was suggesting. Great for the passengers with little hanging about.

True, but is there time to have a leg stretch, or perhaps we'll be locked in, or tied to our seats in case we trip up on the platform.

Not been on a Tornado trip yet where you've not been allowed a leg stretch at a water stop, unless it is in a loop of course or a short platform. Passengers are usually asked politely not to wander off and to get back on the train as soon as you are requested to.

You'll have a job at Exeter as the stop is in Riverside Yard ;-)

Suspect brief leg stretches might be available at Newbury and Plymouth

Albeit agree the water stops seem rather brief, but won't complain at that

any idea what the class 59 return haulage number will be?

theres a path exeter-penzance for the 59, but does anyone have the 59 movements to Exeter before.

According to the Met office, the route should get a soaking today.

Just started raining here near Southampton, 13 minutes earlier than our local forecasting weather site predicted! I can watch the progress of the rain on that site. They forecast very heavy rain tonight in the south and south west then cloudy and damp tomorrow. Hope it goes well and as a veteran of many Tornado trips I can say that I am sure it will .

Indeed that was what I was suggesting.
I can only go by water stops at Plymouth which
usually have an allowance of around an hour,
often involving the loco(s) uncoupling and
moving to another line for watering.
Obviously the efficiency of Tornado and
her support team extends to water stops as well.

    10 to Exeter.
Dropping the brake coach off at riverside, 59 to bring it down to Penzance.
Tornado's support coach to act as brake vehicle.
    Nine coaches Exeter to Penzance.

$64,000 question - which way round will the stock be? We're in coach H so fingers crossed it's the country end leaving Paddington.

I've got the unglamorous bit Don.
    Penzance to Bodmin Parkway.
Will be travelling down with the train though.
July 5th and 9th both involved, don't know which bits yet.

A bit late in the day to be advising this to all you lucky people who will be boarding in around 8 hours time, but for those of you who didn't catch this, nice to see the revival for just one more time of the M8Y headboard for this outing, as announced earlier today by A1SLT...... https://www.a1steam.com/2017/05/28/6972/

A nice touch, indeed, and highly appropriate, as the body copy explains.

Hope you all have a great day, and a memorable one
