But still no explanation as to where the non battery power comes from, we know that there are steam turbine generators out there, but the ones I've seen are ancient and rather large.

Seem to remember that Tornado is less than convinced by her Steam turbine generator and also has a belt driven one ( off one of the tender axles I believe). Looking at alternatives for the P2... Not much of a problem to upgrade the lighting on a 'Tractor'

Dosn't the A1 trust have an electrical engineer on it's support crew? As in that's his/her official title. Bear in mind Tornado also has things like 110v sockets, a USB connection and spotlights below it's running plate. I thought the original A1's had a steam genny I'm guessing Tornado takes power from that or another source?

We had a talk from the A1 trust a few months back.
I seem to remember mention being made of at least 2 power supplies.
    Steam Generator.
    Alternator Axle driven.
Supplemented by storage battery and not sure if there is a small solar panel as well.

A solar panel? I wouldn't be surprised about that. Fair play to the A1 group very forward thinking.

Well I think Mr Morland was actually onboard on Monday but isnt all the time. Guess whichever engineer is on the support crew will be very well versed in her electronics. Surprised she doesn't have her own router so she can be monitored remotely.

Technically the headlights on D6700 are authentic as it ran in service in this livery with headlights and small yellow panels.

It's not my photograph so I hope I'm not out of order posting it. Apologies to the photographer if I am, it's a damn fine picture.

Hmm I think a link rather than the actual photo would have been more appropriate especially as the photographer has not been credited either..........
