It does indeed, well done for opting for rivets over welding. Looks so historically accurate!

Today we installed the second half of the heritage canopy assembly, being the purlins, intermediate rafters and fascia boards (down the platform side).
That's pretty much it for the canopy assembly. Now we have to complete the drilling of 500 or so holes for bolts (then rivets) to hold everything together. A couple of angle brackets also need to be fitted in two of the corners.
When the steelwork is completed, the covering can be fitted: Full corrugated iron sheets on the forecourt side; half corrugated iron, and half traditional glazing on the platform side.

Was the final bay up to the Footbridge built at the same time or does that follow ( like the footbridge)?

For the final bay there continue to be design option issues: heritage / non heritage.

Is it something that can be put off until money is found after opening, or does *something* need to be put in now?

I've heard a story that the bridge and the station building have been erected independently without an overall site plan, so that they don't line up correctly to allow the canopy to match up with the bridge stairs!
Is there any truth in this rumour?

It is not a money issue.

Yes, looking at Hall Green station on Google Earth, the canopy ridge is aligned with the trackside edge of the bridge stairway, whereas the picture of Broadway looking along the ridge shows a significant offset. Oops!
I'm sure it must be feasible to produce a scheme to accommodate this which looks like that's how the GWR would have done it.

I think these two pictures of Hall Green and one of Broadway (pinched off the Blog) illustrate the issue.
A challenge to be overcome, not a problem, IMHO.

    Unfortunate but not insurmountable.

Many stations 'grew like topsy' rather than being planned all at once, and so gave rise to such problems.

However, some lessons in co-ordination to be learned, once, a long time ago, I turned up at the GWarcsRailway for a dining train but no one had arranged a loco crew.

    I'm sure it's better now.

I went there 2 years ago for a special train but no-one had arranged a signalman.

The canopy at Hall Green appears to extend well beyond the end of the building, so that the exact position of the foot of the stairs in relation to the ridge line is not important. Does it matter any more at Broadway?

Jo has produced a blog entry to cover this work, and he has really outdone himself this time! Jo has a habit of turning out well-illustrated entries on the various GWSR blogs he runs, but this one takes it to a whole new level! Incredibly well done, Jo!

I rode on the autotrain /1450 yesterday along the new extension to Little Buckland.
The line is now tantalisingly close to Broadway. It's very impressive what the folk at the GWRly have achieved.
Well done to all concerned. <BJ>

Here's a video of the auto coach being pushed by 1450 from Toddington, over Stanway viaduct, past Laverton loop and another 2km to the new stopping point at little Buckland. It was the last day at the GWSR for 1450 today.
    This is the link:

A photograph of the same train on its second journey up the extension is attached, seen from the bridge at Toddington. This combination of GWR 14XX and auto coach was the Honeybourne line 'Coffeepot', a train that typefied the services on our line for 40 years. The auto coach was packed.

Sleeper laying is doing well. The big news is that we have started laying the first sleepers at Childswickham Road bridge, which is the entrance to the former Broadway station goods yard. More rail is being delivered on Monday, and this supply will take the track right up to the bridge (currently sleepers only, with a gap in the middle to let vehicles pass)

Spruce up that long siding north of Toddington and the GWSR could have its first dynamic loop! Nice to see the progress; next time I'm in the Cotswolds I'll drop in.
