60103 is operating two CE circular trips on 3rd June with a lunch train on the Surrey Hills circuit and an evening run from Victoria to Overton. Please note that the return leg of the evening trip goes back to Paddington via Southampton, Basingstoke and Reading. Timings are available on a certain website ;)

Remove the blanket, just tell us the website. RTT maybe. You won't get locked up for revealing it for goodness sake. What has the world come to.

The world has come to the point where some members of the public just don't get the trespass thing and need an armed fence to keep them away. I still have the image in mind from Monday of someone standing several feet from a foot crossing in Cornwall with their right foot on the eastbound running line whilst they took a picture of Tornado. And the crowds west of Plymouth were everywhere although mercifully mostly on bridges and platforms.

That said, as we paused at Newton Abbot with the buddleia in the way of a decent shot of the loco, one of the station staff supervised a dozen or so people while they were allowed down the platform ramp onto the level to take their record shot of Tornado. Not everyone employed on the network is a jobsworth.

I remember seeing that too and thinking what sort of message does that send to the young children that were around. I have seen a couple of clips on You Tube that show grown ups trespassing on the track, notably at Trevingey level crossing and Redruth. So it's
not just Scotsman that attracts the Darwin element :Arghh::rolleyes:.

Three pages! It used to operate around the areas covered today without any problems with gauging on it's previous ticket. It must be the thicker paint used this time or the bigger ego that fame brings causing the problem

Well if SD (but apparently no-one else) is trying to keep these runs secret it is not working. Around 150/200 plus 2 BTP at the Shalford water stop an hour ago. As far as I could see everyone behaving very sensibly. 60103 was making a superb noise on the ascent through Chilworth, the 37 on the back just idling.

Here is my brief video of Crawling, er, sorry Flying Scotsman passing through Worplesdon at lunch time. The problem must be at the Woking end of the platform as 60103 accelerated through the station.
Not a big crowd at Worplesdon but SWT still had a station staff member keeping an eye on things:

Also here is a picture of the luncheon trip:

It appears to have been another good performance today by Scotsman, with some beautiful noise from the front end as she left Southampton at St Denys. Credit, as ever, to all who look after her.

Sadly, however, it appears that no matter how many times the BTP tell people to stay off the tracks, there will be one person who thinks they're above this. Fortunately, the non-enthusiast dad and his 10ish-year old son, who at the start of my conversation with them asked if they'd be in the middle of my shot if they walked down the track 50 yards or so, listened to me when I told them not to leave the straight and narrow of Walworth foot crossing, near Andover. They didn't at first, however, and believed I was making it up about Scotsman's trespass problems. They only listened when I told them to look on the BBC website, which was no more than 2 minutes before the train turned up. The dad had no idea that what he was going to do was illegal, so obviously the message isn't getting across.

The question is, how can the BTP actually communicate with these people, the people who think the rules don't apply to them, and tell them that what they are doing is illegal?

And FWIW, yes. They would have been in my shot.

    James

We went to Potbridge for the evening run hoping to catch 60103 accelerating away from Winchfield but it was just coasting along at heritage line speed. There was a big gathering on the bridge including several Nat Pres forum members (it was great to catch up with friends ).
A guy that was filming said he thought he saw someone on the lineside and he also said that the crew of Scotsman were not happy with something ahead of them. He also said that the driver of an electric unit was sounding the horn more than usual.
I will post a couple of pictures tomorrow.

The secret was well kept in my neck of the woods - there was no one on the bridge that I went to except us!

The light wasn't too good, but I got a couple shots and they are both on Flickr. This is the first one in the Photostream if anyone would like to have a look :

    Hope they're of interest.
