BIL appeared to be in steam yesterday at Carnforth as we passed, and it had moved/turned later when we passed on way home. Couldn't make any observations re livery as in both cases could only see smokebox and deflectors which would be black anyway.

Actually thinking about it, may have been Bodmin anyway?

Or perhaps someone in Carnforth has surreptitiously done a quick job rebuilding 34067 or 34073???

Its not due away from Canforth for another hour. Plenty of time to get it out of the shed to the running line ready, rather than just sit on the loop.

Whilst the outbound seems to have been punctuated by an unscheduled stop, she seems to have come home in fine fettle being nearly 20 minutes early into Carnforth (although I suspect the timings were very slack).

48 mins Hellifield to Carnforth - service trains are c.43 minutes but with stops?

They nearly always stop at either Wennington or just after Clapham station on the leg to Hellifield for a decent look around the loco .

Galatea's paint looked hurriedly applied and is the wrong colour red but that's still running like it

Galatea was reputedly painted red with the aim of being turned out as Leander on its first train which was due to be 1st April. It did not make the intended debut but the colour found favour with a person of influence so it has remained ever since. If it were proper BR maroon I would have no issue and it would be nice to see 46115 thus turned out if inauthentic livery is now the house policy.

I don't mind proper maroon as long as it loses the 4 and has LMS on the tender, it would be wrong for 6115 though unless they built a new boiler for it.

Don't disagree but if "artistic licence" is to be employed by 10A it would at least be interesting to see genuine liveries faithfully applied albeit not historically accurately. There is little to admire in gash versions of pseudo BR liveries as is the case with 45699 and so far 35018.
